Project 03242020-01: Experiencing COVID-19: Understanding the lived experience of four high school students during the Corona Virus outbreak Kind of Research: Qualitative research aimed at exploring a phenomenon Type of Qualitative Research: Phenomenology. In this approach to qualitative research, the investigator is focused on gaining an understanding of how a person or group of people experience some happening (phenomenon) in the world. Research Objective: To explore and describe student perceptions and feelings about living through the social, cultural, and compliance challenges faced during the outbreak. Type of Data Collected: Words. Self-reflection consisting of verbal descriptions presented during live focus group sessions to be aired over local radio station (TBD). Type of Analysis and Interpretation: Sessions will be recorded for radio talk show. Records will be studied by participants to identify patterns or themes that emerge during the sessions. Focus Group Leader and Radio Talk Host: Bob Simmons, Pastor, Greenwood Community Church Project Oversight: Charles L McPherson, PhD Interview Questions: (TBD) 1. How do you feel about possibly missing your graduation ceremony? 2. Do you think the lack of an official graduation ceremony will be something that will sidetrack your goals for the future? 3. Do you have any anxiety about getting sick with the virus?
